BMC Software announced the remarkable increase in adoption of its cloud offering with the addition of several new customers to its client base including Adobe, CSC Australia, Swiss COM IT Services, an agency within the US Intelligence Community and Harris Corp. (News - Alert)

According to BMC sources it has secured a total of 30 new engagements which includes

both customers employing BMC’s cloud lifecycle management solutions and also those who access BMC’s service desk solutions via the cloud through its SaaS (News - Alert) offerings.

In a release Kia Behnia, BMC’s chief technology officer said, “BMC is delivering on its dynamic Business Service Management vision with strong offerings available today that enable customers to build and manage hybrid clouds.”

“As enterprise-class IT organizations begin the journey into cloud computing, BMC is a partner that can address any level of challenge with market proven security, scalability and support for multiple operating systems, hypervisors and hardware platforms,” Behnia added.

Forrester (News - Alert) Research, Inc. published a report titled, “You’re Not Ready For Internal Cloud,” which reveals that the economics of cloud computing are attractive enough for companies to start investing in IaaS. Forrester surveys of application development managers and IT operations professionals regarding cloud usage shows that developers are bypassing IT and putting applications onto public clouds at a very fast rate.

CSC (News - Alert) Australia has realized the benefits of it and is fast adopting the trend, said official sources.

Bob Hayward, CSC Australia’s chief technology and innovation officer said in a release, “CSC recognizes the modern large enterprise will gradually consume IT services through multiple cloud deployment models - private, public and hybrid, using many cloud service providers, and taking advantage of various cloud service types - SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. Even within IaaS, there will be multiple technology platforms deployed.”

Hayward explained further that there will exist legacy and non-cloud environments which need to be managed in a consistent, policy-based and highly-automated way through ITIL-based processes. CSC in Australia is partnering with BMC to realize this goal for the benefit of customers, he pointed out.

BMC’s solutions for the cloud are designed to manage the cloud and also use the cloud as a delivery mechanism for BMC’s industry-standard IT solutions. Such solutions are required by clients like Behringer Harvard, California ISO, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Vodafone (News - Alert) Global Enterprise and Wood Group Information Solutions.
