Twilio (News - Alert) has announced TwilioCon Europe, a day-long event for developers, entrepreneurs and enterprises to share ideas and help shape the future of business communications.
In addition to featuring companies that leverage cloud-based communications to better serve their customers, the upcoming event is also expected to have numerous panels.
Company officials said industry thought leaders will discuss key issues that the European start-up community faces. Moreover, there will be technical workshops as well as a keynote address and product updates from Jeff Lawson, CEO at Twilio.
“Cloud-based communications platforms are making it possible for any developer and enterprise to innovate and create a better experience for their customers,” said Lawson, founder and CEO at Twilio.
The company is hugely impressed by the innovation taking place in Europe, Lawson said, adding that they are excited to bring TwilioCon to London this autumn.
“It will be a day to celebrate what’s being built by software people across the continent, and an opportunity to network with the cream of the European tech community.”
TwilioCon Europe takes inspiration from TwilioCon US. At the U.S. event, which has been organized three times, hundreds of developers, entrepreneurs and enterprises from more than 20 countries have gathered in San Francisco.
The event targeting Europe is scheduled to take place on October 21 at the Inmarsat (News - Alert) Conference Centre in London.
Twilio powers the future of business communications, enabling phones, VoIP, and messaging to be embedded into Web, desktop, and mobile software. The company takes care of what it refers to as “messy telecom hardware”, and exposes a globally available cloud API that developers can interact with to build intelligent and complex communications systems.
Earlier in June, the company announced that it had attracted a $70 million Series D funding round and that it was moving steadily toward an IPO.
