OrecX Joins Cloud Communications Alliance to Drive Cloud Communications Awareness, Development

Cloud is the name of the game today, right? It enables better business communications via enhanced productivity, scalability, security and accessibility, and offers benefits like reduced costs. But cloud communications is more than just VoIP, hosted PBX (News - Alert), unified communications or CaaS – it’s a new way to build, deploy and scale enterprise communications systems.

That’s the word from the Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA), an industry peer association that is dedicated to the advancement of cloud communications technology. It brings together cloud communications providers to promote awareness, adoption and understanding of cloud communications services and their benefits. Members of the CCA are recognized as top providers of hosted and IP-based unified communications and include Alteva, BluIP, Callis Communications, Telesphere (News - Alert), DoubleHorn Communications, RingCentral and SimpleSignal. The CCA recently added a new name to its roster, with OrecX, a provider of open-source call recording software, joining as a member.

OrecX will now be able to communicate directly with other members and players in the cloud communications space, who aim to help customers efficiently and cost-effectively store, access and share information via cloud communications solutions.

OrecX’s open source call recording software, Oreka, comes in multiple versions, including Total Recorder, Quality Monitoring, Screen Capture, Live Monitoring, Mobile Recording, TDM Recording and GPL, or open-source audio recorder. The company also offers a VoIP recording appliance that lets users record calls, monitor calls live, record calls on demand, tag (News - Alert) calls and more. To see firsthand how open-source call recording can benefit your organization, OrecX offers a free 30-day trial.

“Cloud communications is the wave of the future, and it is how businesses and individuals will communicate and access all of their important applications and information moving forward,” said Steve Kaiser, CEO of OrecX, in a statement. “We are looking forward to working hand in hand with the CCA and its members to help shape this new communications landscape by bringing to the fold the easiest to deploy and resell call recording software on the planet.”

The CCA and its members are working on multiple projects to develop cloud communications as a standard and its impact on enterprise communications, including:

  • Nationwide Peering
  • Shared Application Development Platform
  • Driving Mobile Convergence (News - Alert)
  • Remote Field Technicians
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Joint Product Development
  • Shared Best Practices
  • Common Support Infrastructure
  • Strategic OSS Alignment

“We’re thrilled to have OrecX join our ever-growing roster of member companies, all of which have come together to advance adoption of cloud communications technologies,” said Joseph Marion, president, CCA. “We’re looking forward to officially welcoming OrecX at our upcoming CCA meeting in San Diego, where we will discuss various issues impacting our industry and new ways to move our industry forward.”
