The modern world is all about connectivity — from mobile phones to the Internet, our means of communication are more bountiful than ever before. However, the classic call center remains one of the best means businesses have to reach a wide client base. TransPerfect, a New York-based company with offices in more than 85 cities, is expanding its own call center to be even more connective.
An update by the Phoenix Business Journal notes that TransPerfect Translations International, Inc. is increasing its job opportunities in Arizona with an upcoming influx of new employees. The international language service and technology solutions company has numerous call center locations in Arizona, and intends to hire 150 more workers for its center in Tempe.
The Tempe call center was opened in April of this year and currently has 300 employees; the new hiring move would bring that total to 450. TransPerfect opened its first Phoenix location back in 2008, and since then has moved the majority of its call centers to the Arizona Valley area. While the company itself is 21 years old, Mike Edwards, vice president of client solutions at TransPerfect, said it has shown “tremendous growth” in recent years.
“We feel that in Phoenix we’ve got a great opportunity with a well-educated workforce,” said Edwards in a statement. “It just so happens that our over-the-phone interpretation and call center business is based here …That goes to infrastructure available: workspace, an educated workforce, lack of natural disasters — the occasional dust storm doesn’t really impact us.”
The call center functions as one of the best means of connection available to businesses today, and TransPerfect’s expansion of it sets it on a path to a successful future.
