The Tempe, AZ-based call center solutions division of TransPerfect reports that it will hire 150 new call center customer service professionals over the next 30 days. Officials with TransPerfect said that these new positions are in addition to the 400 jobs that the company announced it was adding starting this past April.
The new agents will be responsible for taking inbound calls and providing phone-based customer support for TransPerfect’s growing roster of clients.
The primary reasons behind the increase in headcount include a rapid increase in overall call volumes and a growing client base for the company, officials said.
“We’ve invested heavily in our people and technology to make our Tempe facility a truly state-of-the-art workplace,” added Kevin Obarski, senior vice president for TransPerfect. “It’s exciting to be a part of our continued growth in the area—this is a true win-win situation in that we’re able to serve the increasing needs of our clients while also creating more local jobs.”
Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchell said that TransPerfect has been a great corporate citizen in the city. Mitchell noted that TransPerfect has consistently added jobs and made new and exciting career opportunities available to a wide range of local residents.
Earlier in June, TransPerfect announced that it had hired its 3,000th employee. The milestone came amidst an uninterrupted streak of 85 consecutive profitable quarters, as well as the company’s recent climb above $400 million in annual revenues. Top-line revenue for 2014 is up over 15 percent year-to-date compared to 2013.
Since TransPerfect’s founding in 1992, the company has grown considerably and continuously, having never laid off a single employee and averaging double-digit percentage growth year-over-year.
Hiring has quickened in recent years. Sixteen years into its existence, TransPerfect hired its 1,000th employee. The 2,000th came only three years after that, and the 3,000th only a further two years later.
TransPerfect describes itself the world's largest privately held provider of language services and technology solutions. From offices in more than 85 cities on six continents, TransPerfect offers a full range of services in 170+ languages to clients worldwide.
