As the U.S. economy continues its roller-coaster ride, communities across the country are doing all they can to attract companies that will provide jobs with decent wages and benefits to its residents. The readySC program in South Carolina is one such program, designed to provide recruiting, assessment, training, development, and project management services to qualifying organizations so they can find the right talent. Since it was founded in 1961 the program has trained more than 275,000 people, and more than 85 percent of companies that made the decision to relocate to South Carolina cite readySC’s services as playing a significant role.
According to a recent story on AreaDevelopment.com, one of the reasons for expanding the iQor (News - Alert) call center in Dorchester County, SC, was because of the skilled labor pool which the company can access.
The company is going to invest $391,500 to expand the Center of Excellence complex to 42,000 square feet by the end of the year. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development also approved a $50,000 set-aside grant for real property improvements related to the project. When it is completed, more than 320 new jobs will be created in North Charleston, which will bring the total number of employees working for iQor to more than 700 people.
iQor uses the latest technology with logistics and analytics platforms to measure, monitor, and analyze brand interactions, improve business processes, and find operational efficiencies that lead to beneficial outcomes for its partners across the customer and product lifecycles.
A global workforce of more than 32,000 employees in 17 countries ensures the most recognized brands in the world can rely on the aftermarket product and customer support solutions which iQor delivers, spanning the consumer value chain with customer care, receivables, management, product diagnostics, and repair services.
