NICE Systems has announced that it won a giant security contract from a government agency for the company’s NiceTrack technology which provides advanced telecom interception.

 

NiceTrack allows for the interception of all types of communications and generates comprehensive intelligence including the collection and analysis of both telephony and Internet data for law enforcement, intelligence and internal security organizations.

 

Officials with NICE said that the solution offers a complete suite of operational tools and applications to ensure mission-critical information is delivered on time to security decision makers and operational staff. This also makes its possible to detect threats and achieve a “fast” and “appropriate” response time.

 

NICE has received an advanced payment for the first phase of the contract that is expected to generate $55 million in revenues starting in 2010 over a period of two to three years.

 

“This mega contract is an important milestone in the evolution of our Security business, one that can lead NICE to another phase of growth,” said Haim Shani, chief executive officer at NICE Systems (News - Alert).

 

Shani also said the contact demonstrates the company’s strategy of leveraging its core competence in capturing, managing, and analyzing massive amounts of unstructured data to accelerate the success of both security and enterprise businesses is generating significant results.

 

NICE recently launched NICE Perform eXpress, a solution designed to deliver cost-efficient call recording for regulatory compliance.
