M5 Networks, a provider of unified communications (UC) and hosted, managed Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions, announced it has acquired Callfinity (News - Alert), a provider of contact center software solutions.

The acquisition enables M5 to offer advanced IP contact center technologies to its mid-size business clients. M5 will continue to develop, market, and support Callfinity's technology.

Callfinity’s contact center technology will enable businesses to achieve a higher level of customer support throughout their organizations, not just in the contact centers, company officials said.

“In acquiring Callfinity, we're acquiring a powerhouse combination of great contact center technology and contact center experts,” said Dan Hoffman (News - Alert), CEO of M5, in a statement. “Callfinity's intuitive contact center interface will augment our hosted, managed VoIP offering.”

M5 also announced that Callfinity’s CTO Patrick Conroy joins M5 as vice president of technology to oversee the growth and success of the company's largest clients. Jeff Valentine, former Callfinity president and CEO, is appointed as senior vice president of product marketing at M5

Earlier in July, M5 Networks (News - Alert) announced that its M5 Call Conductor hosted business VoIP phone system has been named by Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC), publisher of Communications Solutions magazine, as a Product of the Year for 2009.
