Virtualization allows data centers to achieve increased flexibility while also helping reduce capital expenses, as it enables the automation of data center operations. Companies can chose to virtualize their complete infrastructure to reduce both planned and unplanned downtime. As demand for data center virtualization increases, various companies are coming up with new products to cater to this market.
In light of this, industry leader 8x8 (News - Alert) revealed today that it has partnered with CoSentry, a one-source provider of data center, cloud computing and managed technical services. According to the partnership agreement, CoSentry (News - Alert) will make use of 8x8’s Zerigo provisioning, management and billing platform to provide virtualized cloud services to its mid-sized and enterprise users.
Additionally, VCE Vblock services will also now be provided to clients across the U.S. by CoSentry. According to CoSentry, this partnership will benefit its clients in their collocation and cloud services business. Meanwhile, 8x8 will get to keep installation and monthly subscription fees for all business generated from this agreement. The agreement will initially have a 12-month contract in all CoSentry data centers.
Zerigo from 8x8 allows users to deploy various cloud-based services along with complete DNS and full IPv6 support. It provides services such as managed DNS, VPS and cloud servers. Zeringo was acquired by 8x8 in 2011, where the company stocked it with more enhanced resources.
“8x8 is delighted to partner with CoSentry to deliver these valuable services to their business customers," explained 8x8 chairman and CEO Bryan Martin (News - Alert) in a statement. "CoSentry is one of the most innovative cloud data providers in the United States and the addition of 8x8's Zerigo provisioning technology will enable them to rapidly and consistently provision virtualized services to their growing customer base.”
