If you’ve been keeping up with cloud services provider 8x8 (News - Alert), Inc. lately, you’ll have undoubtedly noticed the enormous strides it’s been taking in its respective fields of business communications needs. After recently revealing its Q1 2013 fiscal results, which displayed a 36 percent increase from that time last year, the company seemed well on its way to new and larger things. Now, after witnessing its customer base nearly double over the last three years, the company is literally on its way to new and larger settings – specifically, a new and larger headquarters in San Jose, C.A.

Let’s take a step back and observe this, shall we? 8x8 is truly setting itself apart from every one of its competitors. Its customer base, which claimed 17,000 businesses in mid-2009, is now at an astounding 30,000 today. Additionally, in revealing its Q1 2013 fiscal results back in August, its revenue totaled to a whopping $25.3 million – an impressive 36 percent increase from the company’s position exactly one year prior. Debbie Jo Severin (News - Alert), 8x8’s CMO, proudly described this as “a great milestone” for the company.

It’s truly no surprise that the company needed to move to support its great success. Today, the company formally opened its new headquarters, located at 2125 O’Nel Drive in San Jose, California. The new site occupies nearly 105,000 square feet, which is more than double the amount of space when compared to its former headquarters located in Sunnyvale, California.

In a statement, 8x8 Chairman & CEO, Bryan Martin (News - Alert), expressed his surprise regarding the move, saying, “We never anticipated that we would outgrow our former headquarters in only three years, especially since that facility was only a little over half full when we moved in. The success 8x8 has experienced reflects the value our customers derive from our services and the growing demand we continue to see from SMBs that want to reap the benefits of next generation cloud-based technologies."

8x8’s skyrocketing growth is simply undeniable, as its revenue andprofitability over the last few years have drastically increased due to the increased adoption of its cloud-based communications solutions. Furthermore, the company’s hosted, turnkey offerings are highly-sought after by businesses looking to hold down their upfront capital and ongoing expenses while at the same time increasing the flexibility, functionality and reach of their communications capabilities.

Over the summer, Jo Severin elaborated on what the company attributes its success to, emphasizing its certified, strong and unique customer-focus coupled with its independence in the market. 8x8’s ability to remain “home-grown,” as Jo Severin puts it, has allowed the company to outrun its widely distributed franchise competitors.

This new location will work to accommodate all aspects of the company’s employees, including corporate functions, finance, human resources, sales, marketing, product management, engineering, research and development and customer service and support as well as 8x8’s Network Operations Center – not to mention there’s still more room to accommodate additional hires and more growth.

On October 26 at its new San Jose headquarters, the company will host the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley’s Service Provider Innovation Forum, a monthly gathering of representatives from business development, venture capital and/or R&D groups of telecommunications service providers seeking partnership opportunities and/or new products and technologies, the company statement elaborated.
