AlliedBarton Security Services, a provider of security personnel to various industries, announced it has been awarded a Governor's Achievement Award from Pennsylvania Partners and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry for exemplary support of workforce, community and economic development in the Commonwealth.
The awards were given at the 27th annual Pennsylvania Partners Employment, Training & Education Conference, held at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center in May in the presence of representative of state workforce-development agencies.
Bryon Noon, director of the Bureau of Education and Training Programs for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, presented the award to Ken Carr, AlliedBarton recruiter; Troy Martzall, AlliedBarton's regional HR manager; and Fred Clark, AlliedBarton recruiting supervisor.
AlliedBarton was recognized by the Department of Public Welfare, and nominated by the Bucks County EARN Center in Bristol, PA. The company was nominated for its active participation in hiring, recruiting, training and job fair support for men and women at the center, and constant recruitment through the state's CareerLinks system.
“AlliedBarton not only supports the communities we serve, but we also strive to reach out to every person in the community who is capable and has the sincere desire to join our workforce of security officers and support personnel to become proud and productive citizens,” said Brent O'Bryan, HR director of AlliedBarton's Philadelphia Region, in a statement.
AlliedBarton was among nine such employers to receive the Governor's Achievement Awards.
“I commend these businesses for partnering with our workforce-development system to look beyond what some people see as employment barriers to hire and train workers who can help them succeed in today's economy,” said Department of Labor & Industry acting secretary, Julia Hearthway, in a statement.
AlliedBarton Security Services supplies client-focused security officers and managers across the country. More than 50,000 employees and 100 offices provide security for several thousand clients in many industries, including approximately 200 Fortune 500 companies.
Recently, AlliedBarton announced it has been recognized as one of Training magazine's Top 125 training companies for the sixth consecutive year. Training magazine is the leading business publication for learning and development professionals. AlliedBarton has also been recognized by ASTD, Corporate University Xchange, Leadership Excellence and the American Business Awards, among others, company officials said.
