New Technologies Enable 'Virtual Call Centers' Using Home Agents

By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Contributor

Sometimes it might seem like phrases such as “agent at home” or “home agent” are simply buzzwords. In fact, creating technologies that enable home-based call center agents has become an industry unto itself.

Delivering on the promise of the “virtual call center,” while empowering knowledge workers, is a tall order but one that presents significant opportunities for companies that offer relevant solutions. Enterprises that make use of such solutions benefit as well by presenting an environmentally-friendly image and retaining the best employees who use the technology to be more efficient than before.

An upcoming Webinar, “Agent to Home Solutions: Revolutionary Change for The Contact Center,” will address the benefits of virtual call centers. Presenters Brad Schorer and Craig DiAngelo from VoltDelta, Prem Uppaluru (News - Alert) from Transera, and Erik Linask from Technology Marketing Corporation, will explain how agent at home technologies can be used to help companies stay competitive.

The free Web event takes place July 16 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time (11:00 a.m. Pacific Time). Among the topics to be discussed include a look at current and future markets for virtual call centers and how the hosted delivery model can be used to deploy this technology with minimal investment.
