Zeacom Communications Center 5.0 Offers New Applications for Mobile Unified Communications and Conference Calling

By Patrick Barnard, Senior Web Editor, TMCnet

Zeacom (News - Alert), which offers unified communications solutions for the SMB market, will be demonstrating the new capabilities of its Communications Center 5.0 platform during VoiceCon Orlando 2008.

This latest version of the company’s flagship UC product offers best-of-breed voice conferencing and also brings unified communications from the desktop to mobile devices.

Its conferencing capability lets organizers set up voice conferences quickly and easily, without the need to adhere to rigorous “schedules” imposed by third party conferencing services. Conferences can be established “on the fly” for as many as 64 parties – plus it is a lot easier to postpone or re-schedule conferences, compared to using a third party service. In addition, organizers have greater control over call volume and meeting participation, including automatic Caller Line Identification (CLI) based log-in, arrival and termination notifications.

With Communications Center 5.0’s “Executive Mobile” module, organizations can “push” all the functionality of the UC system out to Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices. This gives mobile workers complete freedom to manage their presence and availability status, plus they gain features and functionality which will radically improve their productivity in the field. Basically, all the functionality currently available on the employee’s desktop (including single mailbox, presence profiles and directory) can be “pushed out” to these mobile devices, thus enabling mobile workers to have a company desktop PC “on the go.”

Furthermore, the “Rich Presence” capabilities offered by Communications Center 5.0 gives “a more accurate picture of employee availability status and workflow.” Through the integration of telephony, keyboard and mouse, in real time, the number of unanswered or missed calls can be significantly reduced.

Zeacom Communications Center 5.0 is designed for businesses with up to 2,500 desktops -- or five to 500 contact center agents. Best of all, it protects existing and future investments by integrating with Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communications Server 2007 (OCS). (Zeacom is a Microsoft Gold Partner.)

Miles Valentine, CEO of Zeacom, said in a press release that the new applications for mobile and conference calling “will help executives maximize their use of time.” He added that Zeacom’s emphasis on integrating with other vendors has only increased its appeal to the SMB market.

“We understand the operational mindset and technology needs of the SMB market,” Valentine said. “This means we develop communications solutions that offer enhanced group collaboration and individual productivity, simply and cost effectively.”

Zeacom Communications Center 5.0 is sourced from a single application which provides presence, messaging, contact center, blended out-dialing, IVR, operator console, mobility, conferencing, and Microsoft Calendar and Outlook integration on just one server and using a single administration interface.
