UST Global Creates 1,000 New IT Jobs for its New Manila Outsourcing Center

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

UST Global (UST), provider of end-to-end IT and BPO services and solutions for the global market, is reportedly expanding its Manila, Philippines workforce by hiring 1,000 new recruits.

UST’s new expanded Global facility is scheduled to open in January 2010 and plans to bring the total head count at this IT services and BPO center to over 5,000. The newly hired IT professionals can expect a best-in-class work environment and opportunities to support global companies in achieving their strategic goals, said the company.

Joe Nalkara, chief operating officer for UST Global said that the company is grateful for the help and support from the government of Philippines in establishing and expanding their presence there. Nalkara also said that the natural cultural compatibility with the US and time zone efficiency makes the Philippines an important part of their growing Asian presence and long term global strategy.

The new expansion marks UST’s geographic footprint to nine countries and five continents and also helps in serving UST customers globally as an offshore location, with cost-saving and quality service benefits to North American companies. UST Global has more than 6,000 employees operating on four continents.

“Our growth and strong customer relationships with global companies give the newly hired professionals an opportunity to build an accelerated career and exposure to processes and new technologies,” Nalkara said.
