Call Center Operations Provider Knowlagent Launches Five-Step Community Service Program

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

Knowlagent, a provider of call center operations that have been designed to increase agent productivity for over 10 million call center agents around the world, has just revealed its five-step community service program. A main focus of this program is to show other organizations the positive impact they can have on their local communities. The company created this program after working in conjunction with MUST Ministries for several years, a local non-profit organization that helps give people in need shelter and other important services.

"Knowlagent's ongoing participation in service activities has been the single ingredient that has defined our culture, established our team and shaped our vision," said Matt McConnell, president and CEO of Knowlagent in a statement. "Our mission is to make it easy for businesses to personally serve their customers and their community. Employees who serve together, stay together. Our service-oriented culture has created a positive work environment with increased employee tenure and customers who note the difference in the level of service those employees provide."

Knowlagent recently provided organizations interested in getting involved with their surrounding community’s five steps regarding how to start their own community service program.

Step one is to choose a local, non-profit organization that can benefit from the help of volunteers. Select an organization after looking at various options through the Web or ask employees what issues are most important to them, in order to encourage them to devote their time to the cause.

The second step is to evaluate what kind of help is needed. Does the organization need people to serve meals, sort through donated clothes or help plant flowers?

Thirdly, figure out an estimated amount of time your business can fully designate to the selected charity on a long term basis. For example, Knowlagent dedicates time on a quarterly basis, and employees are then rewarded with five paid community service days per year.

Fourth, choose employees internally that can spearhead this project, in order to ensure the efficiency and successfulness of the work.

Last but definitely not least, get as many employees as possible involved in this work. Show employees how their work can greatly benefit their community and that upper management will take just as large, if not a larger role in the volunteer work.

Knowlagent can offer businesses these helpful tips, as the company has been working with MUST Ministries to serve lunch and by holding food and clothing drives every quarter since 2008. In addition, Knowlagent employees help to decorate the shelter throughout the holidays.

This volunteer work appears to be just the tip of the iceberg for volunteer work, as just last month the company began working with High Tech Ministries for its Serve@Work project. This project was created to completely redo MUST Ministries' Elizabeth Street Shelter with a newly renovated playground, dining room and even welcome pavilion.

On July 21, Knowlagent is scheduled to participate in a bag lunch program to give lunches to children in need while school is not in session.
