Boosting Employee Well-Being Enhances the Workplace
If employees don’t feel 100 percent, work can start to deteriorate. Customer service suffers and the workplace morale hits rock bottom. Looking after agent well-being will increase productivity. Mental and emotional health is becoming central to companies as managers want teams to feel fulfilled while they work.
Producing a happy and healthy team of workers will save the company money, upwards of $1600 per employee. According to the Forbes Coaches Council, there are several ways to help increase company well-being. Here are just a few that could make a huge change for just a small investment. Implement some sort of physical activity. It gets rough sitting behind a desk all day, movement can be key in keeping energy levels high. Employees can start to feel complacent, so starting weekly yoga or meditation sessions can pay dividends.
Stress management seminars are also a great way to get the team back to center. Some companies have an on-site gym, and if employees are willing to take advantage of that, it is definitely worth looking into. Even bringing some workout equipment to an empty room for break time might help combat some of that pent up stress. Another option is allowing workers remote freedom, one day per week. It is a change of scenery and by offering flexibility, it is a sign of trust that they can get their job done from anywhere. Many actually seek the option to be remote when looking for employment.
Finally, offer a healthy array of food in the cafeteria, if you have one but make sure it is affordable for someone on a budget. By eating better, the ability to stay healthy will increase as will energy levels. If you are without a cafeteria, always have a supply of fruits and healthy snacks on hand for the employees to nibble on, so they do not get worn down and worn out.
Do you use any of these methods in your call center?
