West Business Services Call Center is Now Hiring

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

West Business Services has recently revealed that it is currently hiring 60 people for business-to-business sales and account management to work within its Wausau call center and will be sponsoring a one-day hiring event tomorrow, February 15, 2012.

It was in December of last year that the company first revealed its call center hiring plan to employ around 100 people, and at this time 20 of those positions are still available. This week’s announcement shows that West Business Services is now looking for another 40 qualified individuals to join its expanding team.

Company spokesman David Pleiss said West has about 200 employees working at its call center right now. Without revealing much the new jobs will pay, jobs that require the same amount of responsibility usually range in pay from $10 to $15 an hour, Tom Younger, manager of the Marathon County Job Center commented. The new jobs will be full time and will offer newly hired employees both medical and dental insurance, paid holidays and other benefits, according to a press release.

In the Wausau area, West Business Services is helping the economy become more stable through its call center hiring process."You might have read recently that we've had some negative (jobs) news, so West has really been the one in our area most active in these business-to-business sales," Younger said in a statement.

Pleiss added that West's call center hiring initiative is mainly due to the growing needs of its client base.  "I don't know if you could extrapolate that into a bigger view on the economy, but we're certainly seeing some growth," he stated.

Call centers all over the nation are in search of the perfect employees. And just last week, TMCnet reported that Protocol Global Solutions is heading South to Florida in search of 400 employees that will work in its call center, make calls and process information in relation to a class-action lawsuit.
