CTI Group Announces Latest Version of Call Accounting for Mobile, VoIP, PBX Telephony

CTI Group (News - Alert) (Holdings), which sells communications management software and services as well as voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) management applications and other related products, has announced the launch of Proteus (News - Alert) 7, which company officials describe as “the latest version of its call accounting” product for mobile, VoIP and PBX telephony systems.


Proteus 7 is based on earlier versions and has an enhanced user interface for “much wider browser support,” company officials say, “including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari.” The ActiveX and Java dependencies of older versions have been eliminated.

Users can now customize the screen layout as well, and company officials say the changes also improve the data presentation on the dashboard and simplifies screen layout on administrative options.

The underlying reporting engine has also been changed, and company officials say it now provides “unlimited concurrent user access to reports,” and say the new version has “added many new data sets, including reporting tax on billing reports to help accounts departments and an enhanced auditing system that enables IT managers to track any changes made to Proteus.”

About a month or so ago TMC’s (News - Alert) Rajani Baburajan wrote that CTI Group announced it would launch its SmartInteraction Suite for contact centers. The contact center offering is engineered to meet the needs of VoIP and premised-based contact centers, company officials said, adding that “with the release of their SmartInteraction Suite, CTI Group extends its SmartRecord.”

One of CTI Group's first customers to use Proteus 7 is G3 Telecommunications, a converged voice and data communications using Proteus internally as well as part of its customer-facing system. According to Tony Parish, Managing Director of G3 Telecommunications, “G3's core expertise lies within the telephony sphere so it is good to call upon CTI as experts in their field. The product set offered by CTI is innovative yet stable and secure.”
