LivingSocial (News - Alert) and Groupon are two of my favorite websites, due to the fact that they tailor the deals they send you on a daily basis according to your likes, hobbies and even current location. This could be considered a bad thing by many, though, as you can truly feel compelled to buy everything that sparks your interest because it is available for such a great price.
Clearly doing well enough to continuously expand not only its footprint but also its number of employees, LivingSocial recently nearly doubled its workforce within its Tuscson, Ariz., call center business.

Highlighted for being the headquarters where its customer service agents are housed, it was only last year in June 2012 when the center originally opened its doors. At that time, it hired nearly 180 “new” employees. However, it turns out that these employees weren’t really new to LivingSocial altogether, but rather the area, since the company had fired almost 400 employees including 160 individuals located in the D.C. area and then proceeded to relocate some to Tucson.
Call center businesses, especially within large enterprises, have continued to thrive as of late. In fact, just earlier today TMCnet reported that Yahoo will be onboarding nearly 125 qualified call center employees for a new facility that is currently being built near its already established data center in a Lockport, N.Y., industrial park.
Additionally, the University of Buffalo has gotten involved in the hiring process and is currently holding a job fair at its UB North Campus in which on-the-spot interviews will take place as well as has promoted the newly opened jobs in a variety of ways. Yahoo is hoping that because of these efforts, it will make the tedious method of findings 110 customer care agents and 15 supervisors much easier.
All call center business associates will be paid hourly ranging from the mid-teens to $20 an hour and will be full-time employees that receive benefits. To be considered for the position, each candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree and have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.2.
