Partnerships make the telecom world go round. With mergers and acquisitions coming fast and furious, and partnerships piecing together comprehensive portfolios, the competition continues to grow. Today, the telco space saw an expanded partnership, pushing SMS to the fore.
Oculeus announced an expanded pairing with Annecto Telecom, the U.K. VoIP network operator deployed the Captura SMS solution for its SMS hubbing service. Annecto already deployed Captura Voice to manage its wholesale voice unit, and implementing Captura SMS works swimmingly to support the new SMS service.
"Like most telcos, voice-over-data and OTT services have eroded our voice-based business, which has forced us to look for new sources of revenue," explained VJ Odedra, Group CEO at Annecto Telecom. "We are pleased to report that our great relationship with the Oculeus team and its outstanding Captura solutions have enabled us to successfully launch our new SMS hubbing service and continually grow our business."
The newly launched Annecto SMS hubbing service enables mobile network operators to see a boost on the bottomline and traffic, as it supports P2P and A2P SMS services. In specific, it offers a robust SMS trading platform on carrier-grade infrastructure to provide wholesale and direct routes. By deploying Captura SMS, Annecto gains the business and operational framework necessary to address billing, reporting, pricing, routing and rating required to support the SMS offering. This allows for differentiated pricing and service offerings as well as advanced routing capabilities.
"We are proud to be extending our work with Annecto and supporting the company's growth," said Arnd Baranowski, CEO of Oculeus. "The need for telcos to diversify their service offerings and revenue sources is clear and Annecto is an excellent example of how this can be accomplished."
For a more in depth exploration of the matter, Annecto Telecom is set to offer insights at the upcoming Messaging and SMS World Congress.
Our always-on, always plugged-in world demands more from communications providers than ever before. In the hunt to increase revenues, Annecto is offering options as a result of this newly expanded deployment.
