Earlier this month, Cisco (News - Alert) announced it will cease selling its Cisco MediaSense versions 10.x and 11.x on October 4, 2017, though it will continue to support the unified communications products through October of 2020. In response to the announcement, call accounting solutions provider ISI Telemanagement Solutions (News - Alert), Inc. made a related announcement that the company is launching a new MediaSense Investment Protection Program for Cisco MediaSense customers who are affected by the end-of-life (EOL) announcement. The program provides a unique opportunity to convert existing Cisco MediaSense solutions to Verba in a cost-effective manner, according to the company.

Verba Technologies provides call recording and quality management solutions for Cisco Unified Communications (News - Alert). According to ISI’s Valerie Zabriskie, the Verba platform offers customers all the benefits of MediaSense with some extra features that go above and beyond, including:

  • Cisco Jabber instant message archiving;
  • Desktop screen capture;
  • Additional voice and video recording scenarios (e.g., a unique proxy tech);
  • Voice quality checks, a built-in recording assurance tool can “listen” to all recordings to spot network or audio issues;
  • CDR reconciliation, a tool to compare recordings with call records in the company’s phone system;
  • Active directory synchronization that eliminates the need to manage users manually, but instead provides single sign-on and ensures companies are recording everything they need to; and
  • Cisco Contact Center integration to share information from Cisco UCCX and Cisco UCCE unified communication solutions.

“Since collaboration recording is our core business, we always focus on implementing innovations and improvements in the capabilities of the Verba solution,” wrote Zabriskie in a recent blog post. “Verba 8.9, released recently in January 2017, is the most significant update of our Cisco recording technology so far.”

The update includes  Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise integration; PCI (News - Alert) DSS button for Cisco phones; a Cisco Finesse gadget; recording for calls connected through Expressway; recording for encrypted video calls; recording announcements for incoming calls; true dual-stream recording; Cisco CDR Reconciliation; and Foundations for Cisco Meeting Server recording (general availability for CMS recording is planned for ISI’s next release).

“On top of the above, the Verba platform comes with active compliance capabilities, which allows you to proactively enforce communication policies in your Cisco UC system,” according to Zabriskie. “Control mechanisms includes: presence blocking, instant message disclaimers, session blocking and instant message content filtering.”

Existing MediaSense customers can contact ISI representatives through the company’s website.
