Unified communications have been all the rage for quite a few years now. The technologies that make it possible to communicate and collaborate more efficiently continue to grow and be developed. For this reason, UC remains at the top of the list when it comes to hot trends – even into the upcoming year.
We’ve reached the point where predictions on what will lead the market in 2017 are being discussed. This is a great time for business leaders and managers to take note and evaluate what their companies can do better.
A recent prediction piece on the UC market posted on the Panasonic (News - Alert) blog echoes this. It notes that remote workforces are the driving force behind UC popularity today. With more workers connecting to their offices from outside its walls, having tools that ensure efficiency is critical.
Collaboration is also going global. Businesses are able to expand the people they employ and companies they work with beyond borders, and they don’t have to leave each other’s respective workplaces to do so. Things like email, IM and videoconferencing all make collaboration without borders possible.
One trend we’ll see gaining steam this upcoming year is the need for better integration and consolidation. As more tools and solutions are introduced, their uptake will only be better if the offerings can be easily used and accessed.
Speaking of more efficiency, people are also getting used to the speed of responses offered by digital communications and many are already starting to use IM over email to get even faster answers when they need them.
To stay ahead of the trends and be successful for 2017, businesses will need to prepare and have a UC strategy in place for their workforces. With the right tools and solutions, the success everyone raves about achieving with these tools becomes a reality.
