Get Ready for the Future of WiFi with NETGEAR's New WiFi 7 Router

Connected products provider NETGEAR announced the release of its WiFi 7 router, the Nighthawk RS700, which boasts speeds of up to 19 Gbps and is designed to revolutionize connectivity. The company, which focuses on simplifying and improving people’s lives, said the router is the result of 25-plus years of WiFi expertise and more than doubles the speed of previous generation routers.

As connected homes add more devices to their networks, the bandwidth requirements of modern WiFi continue to increase. With the rise of faster internet speeds, HD video conferencing, 4K/8K video streaming, and AR/VR applications, WiFi needs to support faster speeds, lower latency, and increased capacity. The growing numbers of people working from home and using bandwidth-intensive applications demand WiFi that can keep up with their needs.

The next generation of WiFi 7 is needed. Even with WiFi 6E and  the 6GHz band superhighway performing well, this new level will maximize power and offer a dramatic decrease in latency for multiple simultaneous users.

NETGEAR’s RS700 router is powered by Broadcom’s BCM6726/3 WiFi 7 system on a chip (SOC). The tri-band WiFi 7 router provides the real-time responsiveness needed for the intensive connected devices being used today and in the future.

In addition to a 10Gb internet port, the RS700 also supports the fastest internet speeds and has 10Gb and four 1Gb LAN ports for fast, flexible wired connections.

Also included is one year of NETGEAR Armor Powered by Bitdefender to provide an  automatic shield of security for all connected devices.

The new Nighthawk RS700 Router also has an all new slender and sleeker look. A 3D antenna provides the best connection for all varieties of homes and the radio frequency circuits drive maximum power to push WiFi signals to the farthest range, up to 3500 sq. ft.

Although powerful on its own with high speeds and broad coverage, RS700 routers can be networked together via Nighthawk Mesh to provide wall-to-wall WiFi speed even in the largest homes. The router also enables four separate networks to maximize performance. In addition to a main and a guest network, users can create a priority network for low-latency applications such as streaming and gaming, ensuring a lag-free experience without interference from slower devices. Smart home devices can be isolated on the IoT network to prevent any possible intrusion from affecting the other networks. These features will be available in future software releases.
