Jabra Elite 5 Delivers Immersive Audio for Hybrid World

Everyone has been there. It is time to walk to the office, across campus, or wherever else your day takes you. You find your headphones to listen to your favorite music on the way, or continue a business conversation, or return a call to a customer. But, you find your wired headphones are tangled, or you can’t seem to get a comfortable fit with your Bluetooth headphones – they might even actually hurt your ears.

Because of these mishaps, true wireless earbuds grew in popularity, specifically since 2016. They are designed for freedom of activity with comfort and without the hassle of wires.

Jabra introduced its newest addition to its true wireless range, the Jabra Elite 5 that helps users immerse themselves into media or connect with colleagues, customers, friends, or family from anywhere – without any discomfort, but with a professional audio experience.

"Today's fast-paced society is decreasing attention spans whilst increasing the potential for distraction, making it more and more difficult to zone in on what's important,” said Calum MacDougall, senior vice president at Jabra.

The Elite 5 features new hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC), powered by the Qualcomm QCC3050 Bluetooth chipset. The Hybrid ANC uses a combination of inward-facing and outward-facing microphones that cancel noise from inside and outside the ear for more reliable noise cancellation across a wider range of sounds.

Hybrid ANC performance is less sensitive to how users position the buds in their ears, so they get better noise cancellation on calls and music. With Hybrid ANC, users will hear a guitar riff or even a calming piano on their favorite song instead of the conversations around them – and they won’t have to ask other callers to repeat themselves due to external noise.

The Elite 5 also features 6-microphone call technology with external mics that are active at all times and internal ones giving the user’s voice assistance when it is windy outside. When wearing the earbuds, users will also experience sound from 6mm speakers and Qualcomm aptX Audio, AAC and SBC codecs.

Featuring seven hours of play time with ANC on, or 28 hours with the case, the Elite 5 delivers a customizable equalizer and can handle rain or shine, as they also boast an IP55 durability rating.

The Elite 5 connect to devices and apps easily, facilitating work and play from anywhere. This enhanced connectivity is supported by Bluetooth Multipoint, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift pair, Google Assistant and Alexa Built-In activated through voice.

Additionally, Jabra teamed up with Spotify to offer users Spotify Tap Playback allowing users to launch their next listening session with a touch of a button.

“This all-rounder is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in music, are socially oriented and virtually connected," said MacDougall.

In an age where work and personal lives are more intertwined than ever, having earbuds that match comfort with flexibility and sound quality is a must. That’s what Jabra seeks to deliver with its new Elite 5. At $150, they’re also not going to break the bank.
