Sinch Announces SDI Acquisition

Cloud communications are clearly critical during the coronavirus pandemic to keep teams collaborating and engaged. Cloud communications also businesses the ability to continue to engage with customers during the COVID-19 crisis, and maintaining that “last mile” lifeline means the difference between sinking and swimming.

Mobile customer engagement provider, Sinch (AB) announced the acquisition of SAP SE unit, SAP Digital Interconnect (SDI) for €225 million. In doing, Sinch makes a significant addition to its organization.

The SDI purchase augments the Sinch arsenal in three key areas: Carrier messaging, enterprise solutions and programmable omnichannel communications. In addition, Sinch will see its client roster boost by more than 1,500 enterprise customers across top tech, retail, payment and banking operations. The deal is expected to close H2 2020.
