VoIP Market Set to Vault in Coming Years

VoIP, something the corporate world has become fondly aware of, has transformed the way organizations of all shapes and sizes communicate and collaborate. With its popularity comes growing demand for this not so new, but maturing nicely technology. According to a recent Future Markets Insights Study, a growing subscriber base and technological will innovation will prove as impetus to some serious growth in the VoIP market over the next several years.

Providers directing an aggressive strategy of constant innovation and diversified offerings to the corporate market is expected to take the 98.9 billion subscribers from 2012 to over 200 billion by 2020. That would nearly double revenue to put the value at over $86 billion.

Firms are realizing that investing new technology, as opposed to holding fast to outdated telephony systems, pays off. One area in particular this illustrated is mobility, mVoIP, and as solutions are released that provide the type of flexibility desired the numbers speak for themselves.

 According to a Visiongain, “Since 2011, the VoIP market has changed drastically due to the introduction of highly innovative and effective mVoIP applications. Thanks to these, the global VoIP market has seen a radical increase in the number of subscriptions.”

Nextiva, for instance, recently released a free Zendesk app enabling its customers to use their VoIP service directly from their smartphones. This resulted in a near 10 percent pop in sales. The app offers caller-id, three-way or multi-party calling as well as voice clarity. The freedom of mobility allows for improved productivity, efficiency, customer service and task management.

This is but one example of this fast and furious market, and whether all the projections come true, it is clear VoIP technology has revolutionized the way we communicate and will continue to do so in the future.
