Nextiva Lands Best Call Center Phone System Ranking

There are a lot of options out there when it comes to the phone system for call centers, and trying to figure out just which to go with can be a tall order. But those looking for a new system may have a little easier decision thanks to a new honor Nextiva landed. Specifically, it landed the title of best business phone system for call center operations from Business News Daily.

So what tipped the scales in Nextiva's favor? A combination of factors came together to produce the nod on this one, including ease of use, reliability, cost issues, features available and customer service provided. Nextiva runs on a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) system that's built on a cloud infrastructure, making it comparatively easy to set up regardless of the current environment. There's little need for extra equipment, or for new wiring, so for an office that already has high-speed Internet access, all that's left is a few special IP phones to take advantage of such a system.

Nextiva phones offer five-nines reliability, or 99.999 percent uptime, which is commonly regarded as about the best reliability a system designed by humans can offer. Just by way of reference, Nextiva's last systemwide outage lasted fully 30 minutes, and that was three and a half years ago. Nextiva puts multiple servers to work to ensure sufficient redundancy to fill in the gap should there be a problem.

Costs, meanwhile, are even better; since this is a cloud-based system, that means the hardware expenses are minimal, and about the only costs incurred are the monthly costs. Plus, the costs are scalable; should there be a need for more service—like during holiday seasons—it can be brought in temporarily and disposed of as needed.

Then to top it off, these costs provide an impressive array of services. Unlimited online faxing is part of the package, as are conference calling systems, auto-attendant functions, and voicemail-to-email / voicemail-to-text options. There's even a mobile app to provide extra functionality. Plus, after the sale, there's plenty of customer service on hand here, offering both phone and live chat options for added utility.

Naturally, there are some limits to the system. Nextiva's costs—starting at $39.95 per month for between five and 19 employees, going to $34.99 for 20 to 99 users, with discounts for a one-year agreement—are among the highest in several firms measured. But considering what all is on hand for that cost, it might be easy enough to justify the added expense thanks to the sheer quality of the service.

Indeed, it's not hard to see why Nextiva got top marks in this study; a huge number of services available for a flat fixed rate with plenty of added options on hand? That's hard to pass up for anyone looking for a new call center, and the reliability alone should be selling point enough. But there are a lot of services in the market, thus anyone who's looking for a new call center base should check out all the possibilities first. Those who go with Nextiva, meanwhile, are likely to prove as satisfied with the result as Business News Daily was.
