IPGENIE Offers Free Downloads of UC Software

March 04, 2015

Up to 1,000 businesses in the U.K. and Ireland may find themselves treated to some free software in the coming weeks. IPGENIE, a provider of IP-based communications services, recently announced that it began offering, free of charge, a download of its Unified Communications Platform software that they can continue to use with up to 15 employees in their offices.

In order to get the software, businesses need only to sign up on the IPGENIE website and claim a free download before the deadline of March 31. This month-long window of time allows businesses each to download the software only once, so there is no double-dipping to support more than the limit of 15 employees. The only charge recipients will incur is the cost of calls they make through their own IP PBX platforms and a small monthly support fee that IPGENIE charges.

Paul McWilliams, the technical director at IPGENIE, provided a comment in his company's announcement about the money that users can save by taking advantage of this software.

“By offering this solution for free, we’re allowing 1,000 businesses to save even more on their telephony charges,” McWilliams said. “And on top of that they will get all the benefits that a leading VoIP solution such as IPGENIE v3 provides.”

Those savings, IPGENIE claims, can be up to £1,000 per year when considering the switch to an IP communications service and the savings on the software itself. Its Unified Communications Platform uses VoIP to route office calls through the Internet and also has the ability to sync with employees' mobile devices. Like many other UC products, it also comes with features such as presence, outbound dialing, and support for SMS. It also has support for databases contained in well-known contact programs such as Salesforce and Google, so users can import their contacts into the new system quickly and easily.

With the trend toward VoIP calling, businesses expect to save money by making use of the unlimited nature of the Internet to handle their calls. As TMC has pointed out, VoIP can provide a number of other savings as well as cost savings. It is the ability to sync with mobile and transmit speech to text that really sets it apart from the pack. Furthermore, it makes call recording a hassle-free proposition, so companies that rely on recordings for privacy law concerns or make it essential to their analytics packages can implement that feature without struggle.

These benefits are what can come to U.K. - and Ireland-based businesses should they choose to take advantage of this free offer. If nothing else, it can work as a proving ground for companies that want to try something new but do not want to invest in something while essentially blindfolded. They can test run IPGENIE for a minimal cost and then scale from the 15-employee limit to something more substantial when it best suits them.
