CounterPath Taps UK's UC Market Through ProVu Communications

Unified communications (UC) is starting to become a more integral part of business processes and call center operations as each day passes. Proof of this lies in an Infonetics Research report from last year called “Enterprise Unified Communications and Voice Equipment,” which put the worldwide market revenue at a 31 percent growth through 2013. This sent an alarm signal to vendors around the world operating in this industry, including business VoIP providers.


At this point, the growth is coming with new hoops to jump through. Enterprises that want to get into UC must go through the growing pains of licensing, deployment and management. This obviously takes a toll on larger companies, which have a notorious incapacity to steer themselves at the flip of a dime. As cumbersome as it is, this challenge has mostly been overcome by providers that are willing to hold their clients' hands through the process of implementation. CounterPath is one such company. Now, it is seeking to tap into the UK market by penning a distribution agreement with ProVu Communications, a value added distributor (VAD) in the country.

Terry Meredith, VP of sales at CounterPath's EMEA division, said, “Mobility in the workplace is now a given and we're finally witnessing true consumerization of enterprise-class, personal communications and messaging. As the appetite for Enterprise OTT solutions with great user experience continues to grow, the opportunity for the channel to act as trusted advisors to the enterprise to support this transition is huge. ProVu is perfectly placed to take this solution to the UK market, equipping its partners — already successful and experienced in the business VoIP space — with a comprehensive software proposition to provide a highly differentiated service to the enterprise.”

As part of this deal, ProVu will be officially distributing CounterPath's Bria softphone solution and Stretto Platform, which will allow resellers to sell their enterprise over-the-top UC solutions to customers around most of the British Isles.
