Former Sprint Executive Joins Aptela

Art MacDowell Enhances Team as Vice President of Alternate Channels
 
Aptela, the leading provider of Internet-based business communications services, announced Art MacDowell, former vice president of wholesale services for Sprint, has joined the firm as vice president of Alternate Channels. In this role, MacDowell assumes responsibility for Aptela’s channel sales including Wholesale, VAR and Master Agent programs and accelerating Aptela’s growth via expanded channel partnerships.
 
MacDowell joins a seasoned leadership team that includes former information technology and telecommunications executives from companies such as Proxicom and Cable & Wireless.

MacDowell spent more than seventeen years at Sprint, most recently as vice president of the wholesale services group, a $1.6 billion division where he delivered growth that consistently outpaced the marketplace. While with Sprint’s wholesale services, MacDowell held a succession of senior management positions that focused on voice and data service growth for multinational accounts and on revenue growth in the eastern region of the United States. Prior to joining Sprint, MacDowell worked for Northern Telecom (now Nortel) and GTE.
 
MacDowell received his bachelor’s of business administration from Roanoke College in Virginia.
