There is no doubt that business VoIP helps firms in nearly every industry to significantly reduce their phone bills in terms of roaming charges and long distance fees. Another major advantage of VoIP is that it converges voice and data onto one platform and helps reduce the clutter typically seen within office communications.

VoIPReview.org has revealed the top three ways that VoIP helps companies clean up the office from the clutter of PBX machines, phone cords, and fax paper.

One of the way VoIP helps businesses reduce clutter is through scalable extensions. VoIP extensions, as opposed to traditional extensions, are cheaper and have near-zero footprint. This is because VoIP extensions use the Internet to connect calls, and can connect to phone lines wire-free.

VoIP extensions are also highly scalable. It is extremely easy to add, subtract and move extensions within the office. Unlike a traditional extension, users can make changes to a VoIP extension in a simple way – by requesting a change online through their business VoIP provider. This cuts down on time, money, and wire clutter around the office.

Mobile VoIP is the second way to save space and cut costs related to a communications infrastructure. Many business VoIP providers even offer mobile apps which allow users to download their VoIP provider’s apps to their smartphones, laptops, computers, and tablets. This is especially beneficial to mobile employees as they can program their office phone lines to ring on their home phones or smartphones when they’re not in the office.  This improves productivity and employee efficiency dramatically.

IP faxing is another feature offered via business VoIP. IP faxing allows users to send and receive faxes over the Internet, which reduces costs. Users can send and receive faxes either as traditional faxes or e-mail attachments which in turn reduces the amount of monthly office supplies like paper and ink that are needed.
