It was just revealed that Digifonica Gibraltar is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Voip-Pal.Com, a strategic move that is helping to enhance the VoIP telecom company’s footprint within the business VoIP industry.
Due to the fact that Digifonica Gibraltar powers a vast and varied VoIP patent portfolio containing revolutionary proprietary digital voice technologies, together the company alongside Voip-Pal.Com will significantly increase shareholder value and contribute to significant revenue growth for the company.
This acquisition seems extremely well timed as the business VoIP services yielded revenues of $58 billion in 2011 and the number of mobile VoIP subscribers is projected to reach 410 million by 2015.
“Revenues from this newly acquired patent portfolio will be derived from applying the technology to our own operations, future royalties through licensing agreements, and a white label program,” said Dennis Chang, president of Voip-Pal.Com in a statement.
Further, the technologies acquired from Digifonica Gibraltar are predominantly software-based and can scale over multiple network servers according to the need and budget of the carrier.
"A conservative estimate shows that potential royalty income alone from the Digifonica Gibraltar patents may exceed $200 million per year for Voip-Pal. Full descriptions, advantages and revenue estimates for each newly acquired patent will be released as they are individually integrated into Voip-Pal.Com's Cloud Server," added Chang.
Last month, Voip-Pal.Com was in the news as it revealed it is continuing to provide business VoIP solutions for both casual and international travelers who rely heavily on their smartphones, laptops or tablets in order to communicate.
