There are times when you just don’t want to give out your phone number, but you need to give out your phone number.
For many of us, our mobile phone is enough; we no longer need a home landline or an office phone; everything flows through our smartphone. The only problem is that there are times when it is nice to shut off the business calls without keeping family away, like when office hours are over and you’re on your way home from work.
In these cases, where you need the benefit of a business phone number but not actually an entirely different phone system, VoIP can make a lot of sense.
That’s because VoIP enables you to have a virtual phone number, one that can be attached to your existing phone but also turned on or off.
The VoIP solution can either forward calls to your mobile phone, which is simple and good for incoming calls, or it can run through an app on your smartphone and enable easy inbound and outbound calling.
Of course, business VoIP solutions also enable the business features you would expect from an office phone system — and more.
Since VoIP is less expensive than traditional phone systems, using the Internet for transmission instead of individual phone lines, business VoIP solutions both can offer more features and also take advantage of the fact that calling with VoIP is digital.
These features can include auto attendant, conference calling, call hunting, simultaneous ringing to several phones, and of course voicemail. They also usually can support phone extensions and other features.
There are times when a business phone number is needed but not the actual business phone system. For those situations, VoIP is a great solution—and at a fraction of the price.
