Information and communications technology (ICT) has introduced products and services to individual consumers and organizations that have simplified many of the costly and time-consuming actions we take every day. The field of IP communications and business VoIP has advanced far beyond just offering voice transport, and service providers now deliver value added services and applications not possible until recently. In order to stay ahead of the game, companies make key acquisitions of technologies that increase their offerings to their customers.
BandTel (News - Alert), a VoIP telecommunications provider, has acquired the full Matrix IVR Technology suite from MCCT to complement its current offering of VoIP telecommunications and SIP trunking services.
Under the terms of the agreement revealed by the company, BandTel will own all matrix systems assets, including technology, equipment stock, and the Matrix customer base.
With this acquisition the company will be able to add more value to telecom services it offers for small, medium and large volume telecommunications users, which include enterprises of all sizes, call centers, and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) environments.
The Matrix IVR product line opens new opportunities for BandTel by integrating its all-inclusive Application Generator system capable of handling up to 960 inbound (or outbound) ports, the ability to convert text to speech (TTS) for voice prompts and other messages; continuous word speech recognition; conferencing with GUI interfaces for administrators and operators; and fax broadcast and fax-on-demand and unified messaging.
Some of the other Matrix IVR applications include: teleconferencing, SMS messaging, audiotext information, nationwide delivery tracking control and more.
The Matrix platform applications are structured on MySQL database using RedHat Linux as the operating system. It is designed to function in today’s real-time decision-making ecosystem in which large amounts of data are generated from multiple touch points and channels.
“The critical mass needed to offer this sort of value add custom telecom applications was simply too high for most end users to be practical. But now, by offering Matrix as a service coupled to the BandTel NPlus-Network, custom IVR application of any size can be made feasible for a much wider audience. We are very excited about the synergy Matrix brings to our network and our product portfolio,” said Pete Sandstrom, CEO of BandTel, LLC.
