VoIP apps make it easy and more economical to communicate anywhere in the world for businesses or individuals. They often provide wise options for workers on the go.
What are some of the more economical, popular apps?
Skype (News - Alert) is one of the best-known VoIP apps. Skype-to-Skype service is free, and the service can be downloaded for free. Video calls are made easily, and on smartphones, users can send instant messages and SMS messages. Calls to other users are relatively inexpensive. There is no monthly fee. It offers Skype to telephone circuit and Skype to laptop calling.
Rebtel (News - Alert) doesn’t charge a monthly fee either. It provides phone calls over a wireless Internet connection, and is often used by travelers who want to stay in touch with friends and relatives back home. It is often found in North America and Europe.
Another app is called Tango. Users can stay connected via a 3G, 4G and wireless Internet connection, and make video and voice calls, send text messages, play games and more for free on the app.
Google (News - Alert) Voice lets users call other Google Voice users for free – no matter where they are located. It is relatively popular with business users. Users can send text messages, too. Another benefit with Google Voice is how it’s integrated with a user’s Google account.
One of the newer VoIP apps is Fring. It lets users chat with multiple people concurrently. Users can be connected to a 3G, 4G or wireless network, and can make free phone calls to anyone with Fring, Skype, VoIP Stunt, SIP, ICQ, MSN traveler or GoogleTalk.
Viber is known for the quality of its calls. Because it runs in the background, users know if someone is trying to reach them. It also doesn’t use a lot of battery power.
WiCall doesn’t require an Internet connection. It can be used to make calls or send texts. It is popular among those trying to communicate with relatives located in another country.
Another app is Groove IP Lite. Users can make an unlimited number of free calls anywhere in North America with the app. It uses a wireless Internet connection. It is well-suited for those who have relatives in Canada.
TiKL Touch Talk Walkie Talkie lets users chat to other users who downloaded the app and turns a phone into a walkie talkie.
CSipSimple can be downloaded for free. There is no monthly membership fee. It is easy to use, and can be used via a wireless Internet connection.
Another app is Vopium (News - Alert). Vopium operates on Android operating system, Blackberry, iPhone, Java, Symbian and Windows Mobile, as well as WLAN enabled devices. It is often used for international calls.
Another option is EQO. Domestic and international calls between EQO users are free. It doesn’t have a lot of options compared to some other apps.
And there is a RingCentral App for iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad. It provides voice, fax, text, and conferencing – on an iPhone or iPad. Also, with RingCentral Conferencing, users have audio conference calling on the iPhone and iPad. Also, VoIP allows for the RingCentral iPhone App to make calls without using carrier airtime minutes. Minutes are counted on a RingCentral account.
