Business Software Provider NetSuite Offering New Accountant Program for Free

August 31, 2010
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

The NetSuite (News - Alert) Accountant Program is now available from cloud-based business software provider NetSuite Inc.. This new program is designed exclusively for accountants eager to leverage the power of cloud computing in an effort to provide the best possible service to clients managing all financials on NetSuite.

Users can enjoy secure real-time, browser-based access to their clients’ NetSuite accounts, as per the clients’ discretion and preferred rates on NetSuite training. Accounting firms and clients running NetSuite can access the new program free of charge.

With cloud-based financials, NetSuite users can securely collaborate through real-time access to accounts. This helps to resolve accounting issues and close books faster than previously possible when in-person meetings were normally required.

This program serves as a stark contrast to old, on-premise solutions such as Great Plains and Sage that demanded collaboration through remote access. This process was challenging and accounting firms were often left working with information from outdated reports and spreadsheets provided by clients.

"NetSuite's Accountant Program enables me to provide superior customer support to my NetSuite clients throughout the United States and Canada," said Barry Boese, Certified Management Accountant at Baac Office, in a statement. "Since NetSuite is web-based, I can view transactions and process month-end entries right from my desk, saving all of us time and money while eliminating most travel time and costs."

The NetSuite Accountant Program – which is immediately available – delivers such benefits to accounting firms as the ability to support clients running NetSuite through secure, remote access that is easy to use; the receipt of training and tools that enable the learning of NetSuite and the navigation of the client’s NetSuite-based financials; the ability to learn about the latest NetSuite innovations and gather advice from other NetSuite users; and receive benefits for referring new business to NetSuite.

As cloud-computing is becoming a driving force for streamlining processes and enhancing operations, accounting firms can now take advantage of this technology platform in a secure manner for accessing customer documents and delivering results in a more timely manner.

In other NetSuite news, the company recently announced a partnership with The Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries.

This partnership is aimed at helping software companies succeed amid the new business models, expanding regulatory requirements, and the challenging customer dynamics of today’s business software industry.
