Business software provider NetSuite has been awarded Best Cloud Application at the Cloud Computing World Series Awards 2010.
The Awards are designed to showcase the full cloud computing supply chain -- vendors, suppliers, integrators and end-users -- to offer a complete view of the industry. For this year’s awards, hundreds of entries were received. An independent panel of judges, including prominent journalists and analysts from the IT community, decided on the award winners for each category.
NetSuite (News - Alert) was voted the best cloud application, beating out several other vendors to win the award. NetSuite is “a real market leader,” said John Chapman, Editorial Director for IT Europa, and also one of judges.
To pick the winners, the judges evaluated the extent to which an application’s architecture leverages the cloud and eliminates the need to install and run the application on the customers own computers, thus easing the burden of software maintenance, ongoing operation and support.
“The UK technology industry has once again recognised NetSuite a leading choice for cloud-based business software," said Steve Sydes, managing Director for UK and EMEA at NetSuite.
Given the breadth of experience of the judging panel, and the calibre of the other nominees, the company is “extremely proud” to have won this award, Sydes said, adding that it demonstrates just how well the NetSuite application has grown and evolved over the years to meet the needs of the customers.
Last month, cloud-based business software provider NetSuite announced a strategic partnership with Sunway E-Systems, a Southeast Asian integrator of technology-enabled business transformation, and a subsidiary of the Sunway Group.
