SuiteCloud Coming to San Francisco; Will Bring Together Cloud Computing Ecosystem

April 06, 2010

NetSuite Inc., a provider of cloud computing business management software suites, recently announced details of its upcoming partner conference, SuiteCloud 2010. This event is expected to bring together leaders in cloud computing with a diverse ecosystem of partners; a group that will include anyone from solution providers to developers to independent software vendors to system integrators.

SuiteCloud 2010 is scheduled for April 14-16 at the InterContinental Hotel in San Francisco. The event will focus on how the NetSuite (News - Alert) cloud ecosystem is designed to power the changing business model for resellers and how it can foster the industry's most sophisticated third-party applications.

On-premise and SaaS (News - Alert) value-added resellers will have the opportunity to learn how to elevate and modernize their businesses with the mounting strength of cloud computing. Developers will be able to explore new opportunities to reach vertical markets through the cloud and NetSuite's robust, powerful enterprise computing platform.

Sneak previews of upcoming innovations in cloud computing will be available at SuiteCloud 2010. NetSuite will offer hands-on best practices instructions for its solution, as well as demos of the extensions to the NetSuite platform. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with global NetSuite community partners and experts.

VARs and solution providers who have built their business around on-premise solutions are facing a changing market as cloud computing becomes the clear way forward in enterprise software.

Shrinking opportunities and a constraining business model could put some of these providers out of business. SuiteCloud 2010 aims to guide channel partners to new strategic options before outmoded approaches prevent any future business opportunities.

'We believe that this is the year the channel will transition their business model from selling archaic on-premise software to selling cloud-based suites,' said NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson (News - Alert), in a statement. 'If traditional VARs don't change to meet the demand for cloud computing solutions, they could go out of business.'

As cloud computing becomes the forefront in business innovation, NetSuite is able to offer a unique depth of functionality, a robust development platform and wide coverage of several key industry verticals. Potential channel partners will be able to discover significant business opportunities and channel programs available.

In the summer of 2009, Gartner Dataquest released figures demonstrating that NetSuite had joined the ranks of North America's top ten ERP vendors by revenue. IDC (News - Alert) awarded the company its SMB Excellence Award in SaaS and Cloud Computing.

With other industry recognitions, NetSuite is building a strong industry reputation and SuiteCloud 2010 will further demonstrate why NetSuite's approach to cloud computing is gaining increased traction as the preferred deployment model for business applications.

NetSuite made news recently when it announced the nominees for its first annual Hairball Awards - a new awards program that recognizes businesses that have reduced system complexity, lowered operational costs and boosted employee productivity by replacing their on-premises systems with NetSuite's cloud-based buiness software.

In other words, the 'Hairballs' honor companies that have eliminated 'the hairball of applications and middleware that hinders productivity and drives up costs due to brittle integration, incompatible processes, low productivity and high maintenance costs.'

Thirty companies have been nominated in 10 categories. Winners will be announced at SuiteCloud 2010 in San Francisco on April 15.
