The objective of the newly signed OEM agreement between SAP AG and NEC (News - Alert) is to integrate the SAP Business ByDesign solution into NEC’s cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) services.

The OEM agreement is said to be the first of its kind worldwide regarding SAP (News - Alert) Business ByDesign and initially the integrated NEC products will be available in the South East Asian markets. The SAP Business ByDesign will also be leveraged by NEC to build new valued-added localization functionalities.

Designed for SMEs and subsidiaries of larger corporations, the SAP Business ByDesign is termed as a complete, integrated suite that can run one’s whole enterprise including financials, human resources, sales, procurement, customer service, and supply chain. Through end-to-end processes, the suite can increase organizational efficiency, help them realize timely insights by looking into detailed and integrated analytics and reporting and ensure easy access to  highly secure data centers that are managed and monitored by well-trained SAP agents. 

NEC explained that its ERP services are for a business’ workhorse software that processes users’ accounts and manages their inventory. It is capable of controlling financials, production, ordering, workflows, sales and payroll, and supplies financial information to their organization.

NEC’s cloud-based ERP solutions fitted by SAP’s Business ByDesign suite are slated to help smaller organizations seamlessly implement their own enterprise-wide business management platform and supply chain management (SCM) system around the globe.
