Appian, a company that deals in modern Business Process Management (BPM) software, recently announced that the company has been recognized by Gartner (News - Alert), Inc. for its Appian Cloud solution. Gartner has given Appian Cloud a "Strong Positive" rating in its new report "MarketScope for Business Process Management Platform as a Service,” A "Strong Positive" rating is the highest in the report methodology.

Recently, Laborers' International Union of North America (LiUNA) selected Appian Cloud to improve its Membership Management System. LiUNA represents more than 500,000 construction workers, public employees and mail handlers. The union campaigns for better wages and benefits, safer job sites and increased opportunity for its members. LiUNA's legacy application environment was in need of an upgrade. The union’s mobile tools had a limited set of capabilities that needed to be expanded upon to accommodate a growing mobile workforce. A number of paper-based business processes also needed to be changed in order to improve back office efficiency.  Appian Cloud provided LiUNA with a comprehensive enterprise process and data management system, aiming to reduce the burden on its internal IT staff.
