Copenhagen Airport Implements Quintiq Software for Workforce Resourcing

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Copenhagen Airport (CPH) recently announced that it has entered into strategic collaboration with Quintiq (News - Alert), a leading organization in supply chain planning and optimization. CPH will now implement the incorporated software platform from Quintiq for optimizing the scheduling of its staff of 2,100 employees. CPH operates an extremely busy airport hub in the Nordic area, linking up 140 destinations, servicing over 60 airlines and dealing with a minimum of 23.3 million passengers in the last one year.

Prior to Quintiq, CPH was using multiple legacy systems. After the initial phase of the Quintiq software deployment, CPH can further leverage its employees in a resourceful manner. Quintiq's Workforce Planning application is used by CPH for administering the staff records and task assignments. Apart from dealing with the union and Danish labor regulations, the latest system will offer increased transparency and visibility in employee scheduling across all the 11 departments of CPH.

In a statement, Kristian Durhuus, COO, Copenhagen Airports said, "Using multiple systems to roster staff in 11 departments and plan their assignments was a very complex process. We chose Quintiq's application as it offers greater visibility and flexibility for handling real-time events, particularly with its mobile application."

The second phase of deploying Quintiq software is presently in process at CPH. In this phase, apart from implementing a mobile application, major scheduling tasks will also be computerized. The Quintiq software will also be incorporated with SAP (News - Alert) Payroll.

Arjen Heeres, COO of Quintiq said, "Airports and air navigation service providers use Quintiq solutions to manage over half the world's airspace. Being selected by the largest airport operator in northern Europe further reinforces our position as the leading solution provider for the aviation sector. We're pleased to partner with Copenhagen Airport to help optimize their workforce planning process."

The international airports at Kastrup and Roskilde Airport are owned and managed by CPH. The organization is accountable for all the aspects of safety and security, transportation, everyday maintenance, developing fresh facilities, route development and planning the airports' future objectives.

Quintiq has nearly 12,000 users in about of 80 countries, which depend on its software for resourcing and optimizing employees, logistics and production.
