Dresner BI Market Study Positions Yellowfin at Top

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

Dresner Advisory Services recently completed its Wisdom of Crowds Business Intelligence Market Study for 2013. In its study, Dresner has honored Yellowfin as an exceptional first-class business intelligence (BI) vendor. For the second consecutive year, Yellowfin has earned the top position in the study’s “Emerging Business Intelligence Vendors” category.

According to the report, Yellowfin, a member of the “Emerging Business Intelligence Vendors” category, has been positioned at the top for 2013. Compared to 2012, the organization scored higher in nearly all categories. Yellowfin topped every measurement and has a perfect Recommend score.

As part of the study, qualified global respondents with actual experience using vendor products and services were asked to evaluate 23 major BI vendors worldwide. The respondents awarded Yellowfin the top overall score of 4.74 out of five. All the respondents were happy to advocate Yellowfin and its products.

In a statement, Glen Rabie, CEO, Yellowfin said, “Yellowfin’s unmatched performance in 2013’s wisdom of crowds study underscores the success of our consumer-oriented approach to the BI market. Not only do these outstanding results reflect the quality experience enjoyed by our customers, they also demonstrate Yellowfin’s ability to deliver unrivalled product, services and support. As with last year, we’ve exceeded peer and overall sample averages – across all categories of assessment – by a considerable margin. More importantly, we’ve also improved across all categories of assessment compared with our previous year’s results. This outcome renews our passion to keep making Business Intelligence as user-friendly and intuitive as possible.”

Vendors were graded on a five-point scale as part of the international study. The vendors were evaluated across 33 different criteria, in seven categories. The vendors were evaluated for sales experience, importance, class and utility of product, quality of technical assistance, quality and value of consulting services, reliability and recommendations of current clients. A total of 1182 respondents were surveyed as part of the study.
