Primus Australia Receives NBN's B2B Certification
Primus Australia, a part of PTGi (Primus Telecommunications (News - Alert) Group, Inc.), recently announced it received NBN Co's business-to-business (B2B) interoperability certification, making it the first Australian company to deliver the real-time provisioning of services to customers on the NBN network.
The integration of Primus and NBN Co's IT systems allows customers to order multiple products, and enable high volume orders to process efficiently by replacing manual procedures with automated systems. Customers will also receive appointment and management information on the spot.
"This is another milestone achieved by Primus as it continues to work toward the seamless transfer of services from copper to fiber and deliver consumer-focused products and services on these new networks," Tom Mazerski, CEO of Primus Australia, said in a statement.
A full service carrier, Primus offers a comprehensive range of voice, data, Internet and web hosting products to both residential and business customers. The Primus network offers nationwide coverage through its own network with facilities in 66 cities across Australia.
The network enables Primus to provide nationwide long distance services and local Internet access. The company operates its own fiber network in five major cities, delivering several businesses direct-connect services including ISDN, frame relay, ATM, telephone line and broadband DSL, as well as telephone line and broadband DSL services directly to residential customers.
"The ability to automate the placement and activation of NBN Co product orders is a significant milestone for both Primus and NBN Co that coincides with the acceleration of our network rollout,” said Martin Pittard, NBN Co Manager of Industry Integration. “We remain committed to ongoing consultation [with Primus] to ensure our integration results in a seamless experience for End Users and industry as a whole."
