Actuate (News - Alert) Corporation, an open source Business Intelligence vendor, announced the general availability of Xenos Enterprise Server 3.0 (ES 3.0) for output management.

Xenos Enterprise Server provides both document and data transformation services aimed at enabling enterprises to lower operational costs and complexity and improve customer service. It is a solution that is said to offer several key benefits to organizations such as reductions in total cost of ownership, the delivery of intelligent content and support of Green IT initiatives, and revenue growth opportunities with new lines of business.

“Xenos Enterprise Server 3.0 delivers flexible, highly scalable output management, which enables organizations to keep pace with changes in their information infrastructure,” said Pete Cittadini, chief executive officer and president at Actuate Corporation, said in a press release.

“The possibilities for our customer base are really exciting – and highly relevant to organizations as they tackle mergers and acquisitions, new business initiatives, information governance and regulatory requirements,” Cittadini added.

The new version, as stated, enables organizations to design, build and manage a comprehensive enterprise output management process flow that optimizes the capture, organization, formatting, management and distribution of content for enterprise content management (ECM) systems, print devices and business applications.

Actuate official said in a press release that with ES 3.0, organizations can rapidly respond to operational change management and evolving compliance requirements for information exchange. Also, the company believes that by optimizing information for specific channels and presenting it in the most appropriate format for staff, customers and partners, there can be an enhanced customer experience.

ES 3.0 provides solutions for traditional batch print and transactional multi-channel electronic document output management, resulting in benefits including: reduced costs associated with manual, paper-based processing and delivery, single solution that enables electronic document archiving and multi-channel delivery, improved management and control of high-volume print and electronic document processing across the enterprise, modernized distribution channels and online presentation through rich, interactive content visualization and mobile delivery, improved indexing and metadata cataloging of electronic content for compliance and discovery purposes.

A company statement also clarified that Version 3.0 includes enhancements that address numerous output management processes such as repository management, document storage reduction and performance speed, as well as deep integration with ActuateOne, Actuate’s Business Intelligence platform.

Recently, Actuate was recognized as the top performing open source Business Intelligence (BI) vendor according to the second annual Wisdom of Crowds Business Intelligence Market Study, conducted by independent advisory firm Dresner Advisory Services (DAS). The results found that Actuate BIRT outperformed other open source BI vendors to secure the leading open source overall ranking by a wide margin.
