Businesses today looking to stay ahead in the marketplace are faced with a need to cut costs wherever possible - but without decreasing productivity and efficiency for their employees.

 

Choosing a business phone systems that make use of VoIP services is helping companies to achieve this goal by offering the ability to cut employee travel costs as well as enhance communications.

As a result of this increased use of VoIP phone services, a new report from AMI-Partners predicts SMB’s in APAC will improve growth in the networking market – reaching about 1.6 billion this year.

AMI attributes this growth to more companies turning to software-based business VoIP services including video conferencing which reduces fuel use, the costs associated with travel and any productivity loss while employees travel to physical locations.

 

The report also said that the APAC SMB networking market will grow 1.7 percent this year not only as more businesses look to adopt IP voice and video services but also as more employees are connected to the network.

 

According to Gina Luk, Asia-Pacific telecommunications and networking research manager at AMI-Partners, the last couple of years have seen a sharp increase in mobility services.

 

"This is occurring as SMB employees in the developed APAC region are traveling more and farther. Korea and Australia SMBs have a greater propensity for telecommuting, while Japan and Australia SMBs tend to be more mobile because of travel. This is evident even among firms across all employee segments.”
