Convergys Corporation announced today the signing of a 5-year licensing contract with Telecom Egypt, fixed line provider for the Middle East and Africa, to replace their existing billing solutions with Convergys (News - Alert)' Infinys rating and billing solution.
 
Convergys Infinys billing solution provides CRM support and joins together separate Business Support Systems for a speedier way of launching and selling new services and service bundles for voice, data and content.
 
Serving over 10.5 million subscribers, Telecom Egypt will use the solution to better support new service offerings such as next-generation IP based services and bundled services as well the introduction of new business models--lowering their IT costs and providing revenue increase.
 
According to a recent news release, Convergys Infinys solution will also provide "project management, business requirement analysis, solution definition, configuration, installation, testing, and data migration services" for Telecom Egypt.
 
"Telecom Egypt is now superbly positioned to lead the market in introducing converged - or triple play - services. The Infinys solution coupled with Convergys' consulting expertise will provide us with the tools necessary to quickly launch the new products and services that the market demands," said Akil Beshir, Chairman of Telecom Egypt in a statement to the press.

"With Infinys, Telecom Egypt will receive a next-generation, convergent rating and billing solution providing the highest level of scalability, dependability, and flexibility to support its service differentiation," added Jean-Herve Jenn, Convergys' President, International.

Convergys expects to provide its first bill in the second quarter of 2007 and fully complete the project by 2008.
