When business Ethernet services provider tw telecom (News - Alert) heads to the 2012 Channel Partners Conference & Expo in a few weeks, the company will be arriving already a winner.

That’s because one of its own team members, Dale Kammerich, vice president of channel sales, has been tapped by readers as a finalist for Channel Executive of the Year. Kammerich is one of 10 individuals whom will be honored during an awards ceremony on March 27, at the show in Las Vegas. In addition, Kammerich, along with his fellow nominees, will appear in the May/June issue of Channel Partners magazine.

Before taking his seat as tw telecom’s channel chief – 2012 being his fourth year in the role – Kammerich spent six years in the service provider space, 13 in the indirect channel, and 23 in telecom. A “jack of all trades,” Kammerich served in several roles while in the indirect channel, including systems engineer, area manager, general manager and regional vice president. And, just last year, Kammerich initiated several new partner engagement programs, which entailed a training plan with webinars, an advisory council and ambassador club, as well as a new channel manager support setup and channel marketing plan.

"At the end of the day, I am most excited about tw telecom and our obsession to not only offer scalable solutions, but the fact that we are 100 percent customer- and partner-focused," Kammerich said. "It's meaningful and rewarding work as this channel offers a daily opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic mix of partners."

Kammerich was picked from a standout lineup of finalists, all of which are considered a top person in their respective company’s channel operations – at the executive level or higher – at a communications vendor, like tw telecom. Those qualified for the designation can then cast their ballots for Channel Executive of the Year, a nomination based on criteria like leadership, longevity, innovation, and contribution to the indirect channel.
