World Communication Group Services (WCGS), which specializes in telecommunications switching solutions, has selected Pactolus’ SIPware Prepaid Services as the SIP-based prepaid platform for its IP network.

WCGS CEO Arnie Goodstein said in a release that the company had been hosting prepaid services for service providers on legacy TDM prepaid platforms for some time, but recently realized how much it could benefit from the flexibility and scalability of an IP-based platform.

“Pactolus provided to us an IP-based prepaid platform and application that allowed us to replicate our existing prepaid services as well as integrate our extensive prepaid business reporting capabilities that we had built around our TDM prepaid platform,” Goodstein said.

With Pactolus’ SIPware Prepaid Services, WCGS will be able to reduce costs, take advantage of SIP network peering, and have more control over incorporating new application features. More important, its service provider customers can now access an advanced SIP-based prepaid platform solution without having to make a capital investment in networks and other hardware.

WCGS offers its customers a complete, carrier-neutral, turnkey solution. This includes the ability to monitor the business aspects of the service using WCGS’s Bat 1000 reporting and management system, while WCGS handles all network and prepaid platform management.

Pactolus made news on TMCnet in December when it announced that Telecom New Zealand (News - Alert) International (TNZI), a division of Telecom New Zealand Limited, had selected and deployed its SIPware Prepaid Service as it prepares to offer a new suite of white label services. This will allow TNZI’s retail MSO and IP service provider customers to offer subscribers their own branded services.
