Pactolus Communications (News - Alert) Software Corp., devoted to developing next-generation broadband telephony solutions based on open standards, and offering SIP
applications and service creation/ delivery solutions, has seen a dramatic increase in service session licenses and as a result, recently announced a new 250,000 session benchmark--translating into an upwards of 8 to 10 million subscribers served on an ongoing basis.
Pactolus' growth is being fueled by the popularity and benefits offered by session licensing for multi service bundles.
This new benchmark is the result of having licensed over a quarter of a million service session licenses, and achieving 3-4 billion user service minutes per month.
Pactolus Founder and CTO Dave Horton commented on the company's growth in a statement to the press: "Tier 1s are increasingly seeking to replace old technologies with highly scaled IP
voice services, Tier 2s and leading MSOs are adopting IP voice networks for calls and services, and virtually all operators and service providers are looking to expand their service reach. The achievement of a quarter-million active IP sessions marks a true benchmark both for Pactolus, and for the industry's ongoing migration to IP services."
With Pactolus' off the shelf IP voice service deployments, it is possible to have real-time IP voice services that as service usage increases, is not disrupted. The offering avoids delays thanks to the Pactolus' underlying SIP object/XTML service delivery platform.
The platform also scales the limits associated with JAVA-based VoIP
services, which can cause disruptions.
Pactolus also offers real-time IP communications services that support 1 to 50 users per session and offers services on a usage-based model as opposed to an enterprise-centric user license model.
The usage-based model does not require pre-payment for anticipated demand levels, and is fueling the growth that has lead to increasing service session licenses.
