Invensys Operations Management, a global provider of automation and information technologies, systems, software solutions, services and consulting, recently announced that its Skelta business process management (BPM) software won the Red Herring (News - Alert) 100 Global Award. The accolade honors the year’s most promising private technology ventures from across North America, Europe and Asia.
Skelta, a brand offering of Invensys Operations Management, provides BPM and advanced workflow solutions. Its flagship Skelta BPM software links teams of people to help them better achieve work processes and specific business goals.
Skelta software allows business users and developers to design and deploy BPM workflow applications using tools with which they are already familiar. The software offers features including embeddable, web-based process designer, forms designer, process monitoring and optimization capabilities, multi-tenancy, multiple communication channels and strong integration with Microsoft (News - Alert) technologies.
“Choosing the best out of the previous three years was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, chairman of Red Herring, in a statement. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed down our list from 1,200 potential companies to 200 finalists. Trying to get it down to 100 companies was a task upon itself. The Invensys Skelta team should be extremely proud of its achievement because the competition was difficult.”
Before making the Red Herring Global 100 list, a group of editors evaluates the company’s financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy and market penetration. This assessment is complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers.
“Being recognized as a winner of this year's Red Herring Global 100 Award endorses our culture of continuous innovation, and perfectly complements the recent launched of our new Skelta BPM 2011 software,” said Vinay Moorthy, vice president, Invensys Operations Management. “Our software provides a unique, agile and scalable platform for enterprise-wide collaboration, while at the same time leveraging existing systems to achieve operational excellence and great ROI. “
Other BPM software companies are being recognized for their efforts as well as Cordys, a provider of software for business process innovation, was recently named one of the middleware megavendor challengers in a report entitled “Challenging the Middleware Megavendors,” published in September 2010 by independent technology and market research company Forrester (News - Alert) Research. In the report, Forrester calls Cordys “one of the companies that is big enough to offer a full stack or portfolio of middleware components that add up to a business process platform, including integration and business process management capabilities.”
